START OF A LEARNING JOURNEY! ENLIGHTENING INDUCTION PROGRAM @DACE FOR ALL THE FRESHMEN OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-2022.

Freshmen Induction is an initiative to make students acquainted with the culture and norms of the institution that introduces them to college life, academic procedures, platforms and opportunities that will be made available for them during their time here At Dhaanish Ahmed College of Engineering .This student Induction Programme engages with the new students as soon as they come into the institution, before regular classes start. At the start of the induction, the incumbents learn about the institutional policies, processes, practices, culture, values and their mentors.
The induction program for the first-year admitted students for the academic year 2021-2022 was conducted from 25/10/2021 to 30/10/2021. Various events &talk from eminent personalities were organized throughout this program.
Objectives of Induction Program:
•Main the students feel comfortable in the new environment
•Allow them to explore their academic interests and activities.
•Reduce competition and make them work for excellence
•Build strong relationship between faculty and students.
•Give a broader view of life.
•Build a Character

The details of various events that were conducted in the induction program are as follows:

Day 1 :25/10/2021
In the Orientation Program on day 1,the Director, Principal and the respective faculties addressed and welcomed the new student along with their parents .It provided space for telling the new students about the college, and the academic life they are preparing for.

Day 2:26/10/2021
On the second day, a mind boggling motivational seminar titled ‘MIND BOOSTER- The right move to succeed ‘was organized for the students .value3 Communication Trainer & World record Holder, Mr. Rajesh Fernando engaged our students throughout the session, training their minds with his immersing illusions. The purpose of the program is to boost the confidence of our budding Engineers and motivating them to face any upcoming obstacles in life.

Day 3 :27/10/2021
Day three of the induction program was ‘Student’s Talent Hunt’ which was arranged to encourage and promote the talent of the students in cultural activities. All the freshmen were given a platform to show case their talents and skills in various extracurricular and cultural activities. Several first year students from our college took participation in maximum number in events like Singing, Elocution, Ad-zap, Mono-act, Mimicry etc.

Day 4 :28/10/2021
With an aim to go beyond academics and provide students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, the students were taken on an industrial to the ‘Aavin Milk Factory’ at Maadhavarm on the fourth day of the induction program. They were explained the production process of Aavin milk with packaging methods and students learned about production process and testing process of various Aavin milks.

Day 5:29/10/2021
On the fifth day, Dr. J. Rahila from the Department of EEE briefed all the freshmen on the significance of learning foreign languages other than English and educated them about the benefits of gaining opportunities in Multi-National Companies through it. By the end of the session many students enrolled themselves in the N5-level Japanese class conducted by the foreign language program of DACE.
Later that day, a special grievance redressal program was organized for the newly joined woman students of DACE to equip them with the knowledge of Women’s Grievance Cell with the objectives of redressing the grievances of the students and the staff, of any sort related to women. Our Principal Dr. G. Uma Gowri and Dr. Preshiya from the Department of ECE addressed the students, giving them all the moral support they need to face such situations.

Day 6:30/10/2021
In order to prepare all the First Year Students for their career development, an orientation programme was organized on Day 6 by the Training and Placement Division of DACE. Mr. Shadik, Head – Industrial Relation along with his team of trainers enriched all the young minds on the importance of undergoing the unique placement training rendered at Dhaanish. It is noteworthy that Dhaanish College of Engineering is the only technical institute that provides placement training to students for all four years of their course. Through this session, awareness was built among students to take their training seriously, creating in them confidence of future Opportunities. Finally, some of the final year students who got placed at reputed companies with notable CTC met the freshmen and shared their training experiences at DACE.
At the end of the induction Program, the students were given insights about Universal Human Values apart from other co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. During this program, many students came out of their hesitations and interacted with the faculty members, building a strong bond with them.
